What’s happening in Western Sydney? DA was withdrawn?

General manager Mick Owens said it had decided to withdraw the application, which would have seen a combination of detached and attached two-storey homes and Fonzi flats off Ducros Street alongside of larger family homes, to allow more time to discuss the proposal with the nearby residents.

‘‘We think it’s a very good proposal, but when we were going through and checked what was said to people was factually correct…but it would normally have been highlighted in the plans,’’ he said.

‘‘It is slightly smaller lots than people probably would have expected and we want to work with the residents without any time pressure.’’

Mr Owens said the development’s master plan would normally specify where more dense development would take place, and while the proposed development was allowable within the lot’s zoning, the plan should have highlighted the potential for the townhouse-style homes.
